The Rob Knox London Film Festival was founded in 2009 to honour the legacy of actor Rob Knox, who was murdered in a knife attack shortly after appearing in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince as the character of Marcus Belby.Over the years, the Rob Knox London Festival has allowed young and upcoming film makers and actors from all over the world to platform their work to industry professionals, showcasing their skills to an audience and giving them the start needed to make an impact in a competitive industry. Previous winners over the last decade have gone on to work in stage, film and TV - something Rob would have championed from his heart. Whilst the festival platforms social issues and knife crime in particular, there's no limit the imagination when it comes to our big screen. From comedy to horror, music videos to documentaries - if you have a story to tell, we'd like to give you the opportunity to showcase your work. Our patrons include Ray Winstone (Sexy Beast, The Departed) who worked with Rob Knox in 'Jerry Bruckheimer's King Arthur', Dani Harmer (Tracy Beaker) who also worked with Rob in the BBC sitcom 'After You've Gone', Kate Beal (Author and CEO of Woodcut Media) who oversaw the distribution and international sales of (K)nox: The Rob Knox Story and Graham Cole OBE (The Bill) who has supported and awarded film makers at the festival since 2009.The festival was originally conceptualised by the Knox family and Michael Wearing (Pointless Taxi Productions). The Rob Knox Foundation continues to run the festival with it's newly appointed directors, Rob's close friend and award winning director/producer Aaron Truss, cross-cultural specialist Alice Amata (both of Q Cumber Films) and award winning producer Stuart Morriss (Misty Moon).
