The Trusty Teapot is designed with the sole purpose of bringing #fellowship and camaraderie into the lives of Professional #Counsellors & #Psychotherapists. To bring an end to the professional isolation that seems to affect our profession more than any other.Why now? Last year I wrote two blogs on the subject. It worried me then, it worries me even more now. The fallout from the pandemic will likely bring an upsurge of clients needing help to deal with their distress. We cannot afford to ignore all the benefits we can gain from connections with other professionals like us, just as if we were one big supporting team.Specialists in a range of professions have concerns about their lack of communication and collaboration.Professionals are feeling more isolated, missing not just the fellowship but also giving and receiving support and spending time with people who ‘get' what it is we do during our day.Additionally, we are likely to be missing out on shared information and perspective too, the so-called hive brain.We are, after all, one big team – we just haven't managed to have a cup of tea together yet.What I am offering is perhaps a more personal way of self-development, #selfcare, resilience and connection by simply meeting face to face or online, meet at a local cafe, share your tea break or have a virtual lunch together. We will create a conversation bridge between us all. Reach out to those with different specialisms, cultures, genders, modalities. Races and ages. Therapists trained as you are and working as you do, and just as keen to connect with you in this wonderful and demanding profession. Counsellors have always worked out on a limb, often without co-workers who understand the why, what, when and how of what we do. Practitioners seeking camaraderie online can sometimes find it a less than nourishing experience. At The Trusty Teapot, our message is simple, we are here for Fellowship, Camaraderie and friendship, pure and simple!
