Thessaloniki Youth Club for UNESCO is actively engaged in youth activities in the region, promoting youth participation and education initiatives. Youth employment and social inclusion, active citizenship, non-formal education, volunteerism and youth strategies are listed among our main priorities when implementing our activities in local and regional level. Our goal is to deploy the youth priorities and strategies of the United Nations, UNESCO and the European Union in order to support young people, fostering their engagement within the local society.In its fifteen years of existence, the Club has implemented numerous activities, such as conferences, seminars, campaigns for the UN International Days, formal and non-formal education trainings, voluntary actions and initiatives, that dealt with various topics like the monuments of the World Cultural Heritage of Thessaloniki, human rights education, fundamental human rights protection, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, youth engagement and youth participation.The Club has been a partner in more than 100 youth mobility trainings, giving the opportunity to almost 1000 young people to live the unique experience of non-formal education in a multi-cultural environment.Thessaloniki Youth Club for UNESCO was the main partner of the United Nations Regional Information Centre (Office for Greece and Cyprus) for the promotion of the International Year of Youth of the United Nations (2010-2011).Since 2015, the Club has been an active supporter of the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, while recently it has been acknowledged by the United Nations Regional Information Centre (Office for Greece and Cyprus) as a main partner for the promotion of the United Nations Youth Strategy 2030 in Greece.
