Thoreau College is a microcollege offering intimate place-based gap year programs, internships, and other transformative experiences for young adults that immerse students in authentic community, practical labor, and deep engagement with the natural world and with great works of human culture. These programs offer a context where students can nurture their sacred curiosity, connect with their deepest selves, and cultivate the capacities they will need to lead lives of meaning and purpose.We are inspired by Deep Springs College, the philosophy of Waldorf education, and the life and work of Henry David Thoreau.
