ViRural - Vital Rural Connectivity has developed a very inexpensive solution for Power, Cellular Voice, Cellular Data, and WiFi in rural areas where access to these services is considered impossible.ViRural Africa designs, deploys, manages, and maintains a Community Hub that provides wholesale cellular networks for rural villages along with renewable energy electrification all via solar power. The ViRural WNRT (Wholesale Network for Rural Telephony) is an open, fully functional mobile network that is deployed in rural areas (where no mobile network is available) and used by subscribers living or traveling into these areas. The subscribers use their existing devices, calling plans and services to simply roam on the ViRural Africa WNRT while remaining a customer of their current subscriber. The WNRT does not sell SIM cards, maintain subscribers or own spectrum.ViRural's goal is to connect the unconnected helping to bring power, education, medicine, mobile banking, and agricultural aid to rural villages across the African continent.
