WIRE is a nonpartisan organization comprised of women and men who are committed to increasing the number of women in appointed and elected office in both Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Although they reflect the full political spectrum, our members share the common purpose of drawing more women into running for office and seeking political appointments.WIRE's goal is to accelerate the identification and recruitment of qualified women for public office. We has created an active group of concerned citizens that help identify women who would be effective public servants and encourage them to run for office. Once these candidates are recruited, WIRE supports their campaign and appointment efforts with a broad network of resources.
