We have built a TV like linear viewing experience for online videos, live streams, audio and blogs. On woisio, the whole experience is based on channels, which are geographically and thematically organized ( e.g. US.Basketball, NY.Jazz, Paris.Fashion, Tokyo.Technology... you get the idea.) First off, just like on cable, viewers pick/follow the channels they are interested in, which are added to a Program Guide. Each channel broadcasts relevant content round the clock and which (or if a) publisher "airs content" on a channel is collectively decided by viewers' votes. From viewers' perspective, you have a line up of channels you have chosen to follow, with continuous flow of relevant content from publishers you have collectively selected with like minded people.
