Beta Inventions Ltd developed a technology to eliminate liquid waste i.e. urine. The first product – the WallPee is a no waste tank, waterless portable urinal inspired by lack of sanitary solutions in multi storey construction projects. WallPee technology is based on evaporation and only needs an electric connection but no water, no plumbing and no chemicals. Constant temperature disinfection in the system means the technology kills all bacteria and viruses making the product waste free. The idea was born out of physiological need – full bladder and no facility in sight, somewhere on the 5th floor of a construction site in Dublin where ground floor toilets are miles away and there are no appropriate facilities on higher levels. Result – contamination, work delays, penalties and discomfort.Approximately €150,000 is lost per 100 men per year due to current sanitation setup and about 60 litres of urine daily contaminates such and similar sites. WallPee aims to provide urinal facilities where there are none at the moment including all men dominated industries, army and outdoor events.Improvement of sanitation facilities plays an important role in promoting good hygiene and disease prevention.
