Wellington Films was founded in 2000 by Rachel Robey and Alastair Clark. In 2018 it was named by Screen International as one of the top 50 independent film production companies in the UK.On global release as a Netflix Original Film is Matt Palmer's debut feature, CALIBRE. It premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2018 where it won the Michael Powell Award for Best British Film, going on to be nominated for a record-equalling five BAFTA Scotland Awards, including a clean sweep of the Best Actor category.They are currently in post-production on Karan Kandhari's SISTER MIDNIGHT, shot in Mumbai and funded by Film4 and BFI. And on the festival circuit is Muayad Alayan's A HOUSE IN JERUSALEM – a 4-way coproduction shot in Palestine. Their BAFTA nominated debut feature, LONDON TO BRIGHTON (Edinburgh 2006, Toronto 2006) earned them the Best Achievement in Production award at the 2006 British Independent Film Awards and a nomination at the London Critics Circle Film Awards for British Film Producers of the Year. It has since been named by TimeOut London as one of the top 100 British films of all time.Other releases include Simon Ellis' AS DEAD AS IT GETS for interactive mobile platform Whatifi; Hope Dickson-Leach's THE LEVELLING (Toronto 2016, Best Writer – BAFTA Scotland Awards), Duane Hopkins' BETTER THINGS (Cannes Film Festival - Critics Week 2008, Toronto 2008); and Justin Molotnikov's CRYING WITH LAUGHTER (SXSW 2009, Best Film - BAFTA Scotland Awards 2009).
