Where Does It Come From? is a UK based social enterprise that uses textiles as a vehicle for positive change. The business was created in 2013 to support customers to change to more ethical clothing choices, whilst creating employment for the most vulnerable communities producing fabric and clothing in ways that are kind to the environment.Where Does It Come From? Is your specialist partner for textile products - working with you to ensure your merchandise is ethical and sustainable. We partner with businesses to help deliver their textile needs in balance with delivering impact against your ESG goals. We also aim to influence culture change through our campaigning and events, including running the Where Does It Come From? podcast.Our key focus points are:• Total Traceability: We share the whole supply chain story, exploring the processes we use and getting to know the people involved. We were one of the first to do this!• Fair and ethical production, right back to the fibre: We do this through partnering with social enterprises to access the people who need the most support. We partner with social enterprises in India, Africa and the UK to create our products, including co-operatives, artisan groups and Fairtrade workshops. • Truly sustainable materials, processes, production and business: - Fibres - 100% natural plastic-free fibres such as cotton, hemp or bamboo. Organic rain fed cottons are our favourite fabrics!- Low carbon and water fabric production - including hand spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing.- Circular design projects such as upcycling- Zero waste where possible - including using offcuts for items like scrunchies.- The business uses eco packaging and our website is hosted on a wind powered server farm.
