The Dealu Mare vineyard is the most widespread viticultural area, 60 km-long and 6-8 km-wide, stretching on hills with a predominantly southern exposure. The specific microclimate, warm, dry, with long-lasting autumns, favors the abundance and outstanding quality of the crops. The soils rich in iron oxides favor varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Feteasca Neagra, producing the famous Valea Calugareasca wines. The refined bouquet, harmonized with the ruby sparkles, has produced these vigorous and silky wines which have won the unanimous admiration and scores of gold medals at international festivals. Located within the Dealu Mare vineyard, at the very curve of the Middle Sub-Carpathians, Valea Calugareasca is one of the ancient vineyards famous in Romania. These plantations enjoy extremely favorable conditions for obtaining good quality crops. The entire wine grape production is processed within the company's Winemaking Plant, equipped with modern grape-processing lines and other high-tech equipment. The wine production obtained here consists of a wide range of superior quality red wines of the following varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Feteasca Neagra. The good-quality white wine range consists of the varieties: Riesling de Dealu Mare, Feteasca Alba, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon etc. Valea Calugareasca wines have long crossed the country borders. Having attended several international contests, they were awarded numerous gold and silver medals.
