Yoga Sala started its journey in 2011 with a few students certainly about 90 per a week. Now it turns out to be almost 1000 students for practice every day. The students of Yogasala RGUKT - Nuzvid have trained and sensitized more than 20000 students and other people in and off the campus in different locations in Andhra Pradesh during their holidays. An innovative idea in the form of Rhythmic Yoga sprouted in their minds and the execution of the idea in the form of stage performances raised awareness among the public on the social duties. The themes chosen, the seventy outstanding and fascinating performances on different platforms for the execution of the chosen themes with vital artistic yoga feats and an evergreen smile of Faith on their faces, Rhythmic Yoga in RGUKT, Nuzvid has been instrumental in bringing many appreciations, laurels, good reputation and eminence from distinguished personalities including the first and the second citizens of our country.There have been no such instances of winning a Medal in School Games Federation of India, Yoga (SGFI) for Andhra Pradesh for the past 42 years. RGUKTN won the bronze medal for the first time. The department of Yoga has been working in various dimensions viz., Creating Public Awareness, Training Programs for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), P.E.T's and APSSDC Trainees, Seeking Impressive Philanthropic Financial Support, Internship Sources and inspirational Lectures through the Spellbound Rhythmic Yoga Performances for the students of RGUKT-Nuzvid, Extending the Services in the form of Teaching Assistants to the Institute, Submission of Common Yoga Protocol (Translated version from English to Telugu) to Andhra Pradesh State Government through DVDs and Books which in turn circulated to all the schools of the state, Organizing SURYA (Students Upliftment & Rejuvenation through Yoga), the concept developed by Yoga Ratna Dr. S.N. Omkar for the health and wellbeing of people in their villages.
