-Participate in the strategic decision making of an organisation and advise, in accordance with these decisions, on Information Systems development policies.-Evaluate, classify and select Information Systems projects and evaluate and select external assistance alternatives.-Plan, carry out and evaluate the feasibility studies inherent to any information systems design, modification or replacement project, as well as the associated computer systems.-Plan, direct, execute and control the survey, analysis, design, development, implementation and testing of information systems.-Evaluate and select the available programming systems with a view to their use in information systems.-Evaluate and select, from an Information Systems point of view, the processing, communication and Base Systems equipment.-Organise and direct the Systems area: determine the profile of the necessary human resources and contribute to their selection and training.-To participate in the elaboration of training programmes for the use of Information Systems.-To determine and control compliance with the technical guidelines governing the operation and use of IT resources in each organisation.-Develop methods and standards to be followed in matters of security and privacy of the information processed and/or generated by the information systems; participate in the determination of the actions to be followed in this area and evaluate their application.-Develop methods and standards to be followed in matters of safeguarding and control of the physical and logical resources of a computer system; participate in the determination of the actions to be taken in this area and evaluate their application.-Developing simulation models, expert systems and other computer systems for problem solving and advising on their application.
