The mission of Muddy Sneakers is to awaken in children a deeply felt connection with the natural world -- one that inspires curiosity, stimulates learning and brings new life to classroom performance. Muddy Sneakers partners with public schools to take 5th-grade students to natural areas near their schools, to work in small groups in the outdoors with trained naturalist educators to teach their science curriculum and help students connect to nature.

Nature's Classroom is a residential environmental education program located in Charlton, Massachusetts. We serve students from kindergarten through 8th grade. Nature's Classroom provides hand-on, experiential learning opportunities utilizing natural resources at each of our facilities. After spending a week at Nature's Classroom living and learning together, students develop a sense of community, a confidence in themselves, and an appreciation for others and the environment that carries over to the school community. Over 1,000,000 children and 450 schools have come to view Nature's Classroom as a valuable academic experience, with an emphasis on scientific inquiry and critical thinking. We have been recognized for excellence by the National Science Teacher's Association, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the State of Connecticut. Our programming is tied to the Common Core curriculum, Next Generation Science Standards, and encompasses STEM learning. We have been offering the very best in environmental and experiential education for 50 years.

The Trust is a public benefit corporation created by act of the New York State Legislature and a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The mission of the Trust is to design, construct and maintain a prominent, and very heavily used, 4 mile long waterfront park on the west side of Manhattan.  The Park includes landscaped public piers and display gardens, lawn areas, ecological planting zones, athletic fields, esplanades, docks, public sculptures and other special features.  Also located within the Park are several commercial facilities, including the Pier 40 parking garage, Pier 57, Circle Line excursion piers and Chelsea Piers. The Trust covers its $18.5 million annual operating budget through parking revenue, rents, permits, fees, grants, donations generated by a "Friends" organization and other private sources.  Approximately 73% of the Park has been constructed with a mix of State, City and Federal capital funding. Total investment in all facilities within the Park is approximately $583 million.
