It plays host to hundreds of events each year, ranging from game day matches to grand finals, and from intimate occasions to epic arena spectaculars. The precinct is notably acclaimed for hosting the Australian Open, a range of sporting codes, as well as the highest calibre of international acts and musicians, including Elton John, Queen, P!NK, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Bruce Springsteen. A phenomenal $972 million-dollar Melbourne Park Redevelopment has recently been completed by the Victorian Government to cater for the precinct's growing popularity and enhance Victoria's sport and entertainment for generations to come. The precinct is home to six of Melbourne's premier venues; Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, John Cain Arena, AAMI Park, CENTREPIECE and Kia Arena. The unrivalled location is situated between Melbourne's CBD and Botanic Gardens, bound by the Yarra River.
