La Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA) es la institución responsable de organizar y regular los campeonatos nacionales a nivel global en Argentina. Tiene a su cargo el movimiento y la logística de todos los integrantes de las diferentes selecciones nacionales de este deporte, y también organiza el Campeonato de Futsal AFA y los torneos de fútbol playa de ese país. Fundada en 1893 con el nombre de Argentine Association Football League, es una de las Asociaciones más antiguas del continente. Tras un proceso de cambio de nombres, castellanización, escisiones y fusiones, adoptó en 1934 la denominación Asociación del Football Argentino y posteriormente, en 1946, su nombre definitivo de Asociación del Fútbol Argentino. Está afiliada a la FIFA desde 1912 y a la Conmebol, de la que es miembro fundador, desde 1916.
