Dr. Irina Marcoff, Founder and DPT, who worked for 12 years with the pediatric population in the BOE of NYC public schools, treating kids with impairments and disabilities; mostly in low income neighborhoods. She faced the fact that there are no physical and occupational therapy clinics in such neighborhoods. Even though children with disabilities receive such services through the school it's only for children who are very involved. Children that have injuries with minor to moderate impairments most of the time are not eligible to receive services through school system. TheraYouth was created by Dr. Marcoff with the goal of helping children of all ages, from all injury severities, of low income, to have the opportunity for a healthier and stronger future by providing physical, occupational and speech therapy, whenever it is necessary.
