She consulted with several researchers, practitioners, and specialists to learn that Frank had a liver shunt since birth and should not undergo anesthesia without being on a certain protocol. Luckily, the specialist she found had the experience to successfully perform this surgery on Frank. If it weren't for Kat's thoroughness and persistence, Frank wouldn't have made it through the initial surgery, and Kat would've been out thousands of dollars. Since this was such a grueling process, Kat wanted to make this a less stressful process for other pet owners. This is how TriniPaws was born.
