Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) was founded in 2005 by leaders of the civic, faith-based and business communities of the Rwenzori region (Western Uganda);On 1st July 2022, MMU officially became a public University in the Rwenzori region as a way for GoU to enhance accessibility to Higher Education.The six schools (faculties) of MMU are geared towards making a difference to the social and economic development of the region and the Country:- School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences,- School of Business and Management Studies, - School of Education,- School of Arts and Humanities,-School of Informatics and Computer Sciences,- School of Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery,- Directorate of Postgraduate Studies and Research Currently MMU has an enrollment of over 1,800 students for it's undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Furthermore, it engages in a variety of research and community service projects with universities and other partners from 4 continents.
